ChonkPal is a free pet weight tracker. It's developed by scientists and grounded in published veterinary research. It's not a veterinary service, and it doesn't provide veterinary advice.

The core approach is different from most pet weight trackers: rather than telling you your breed's average weight and comparing against that, the app plots your pet's own weight over time and shows the direction of travel. For puppies and kittens, it draws on published growth research (the Waltham Puppy Growth Charts — open-access, based on over six million measurements).

It also doesn't hand you a one-off calorie target, which many other pet weight apps do. Individual pets vary by up to 50% from calculated energy requirements, so a formula-based number is a starting guess at best. Watching how your pet's actual weight moves over time — and adjusting gently if the trend drifts — is the evidence-based alternative.

We don't use shame-based language. Evidence is clear that labels make weight care worse, not better. The app gives information; what to do with it is up to you and your vet.
